Kid-Friendly Party Snacks That Parents Will Actually Like.
Let’s be honest, the snacks are a big part of any kids’ party – but when you’re organising a birthday bash, it’s a real win if the treats are both yummy and something the grown-ups won’t be giving the side-eye.
Here’s a few ideas for kid-friendly snacks that strike a good balance between fun, flavour, and a bit of goodness. No mad sugar rushes or dodgy ingredients here!
- Mini Sandwich Skewers
Who says sandwiches have to be boring? Cut mini sandwiches (think turkey, ham & cheese) into fun shapes with cookie cutters, and pop them onto toothpicks or little skewers with cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, or cheese cubes.
- Fruit Kebabs
My lot love making fruit kebabs. They’re colourful, sweet, and naturally healthy. Use strawberries, melon chunks, grapes, bananas, and pineapple – and let the kids make their own if you want a bit of an activity!
- Popcorn Cups
Popcorn is always a hit at a party – it’s crunchy, tasty, and you can do it sweet or savoury. Serve it up in individual paper cups or small party boxes for easy clean-up.
- Mini Egg Muffins
These little frittata-style muffins are packed with protein and veg like spinach, cheese, or peppers. They’re handy to make ahead and are great warm or cold.
- Frozen Yogurt Pops
If you’re having a summer party, skip the shop-bought ice cream and make frozen yogurt pops with berries, honey, and Greek yogurt. Use silicone moulds or small paper cups with sticks.
- Cupcakes (Sure, Why Not!)
Okay, we’re not all saints – you have to have something sweet! Go for mini cupcakes to keep the sugar down or think about using less sugary icing and natural food colourings.
- Good to know: Parents appreciate a treat they can say yes to without feeling too guilty.
Kid’s parties don’t have to be all sugar and sprinkles (though they’re fun too).
With a bit of planning, you can put out party food and snacks that look great, keep the kids happy, and get a thumbs up from the adults.
